Spring - Summer 2017 Fashion Trends
3/20/2017
Life is too short to wear boring clothes
Happy First
Day of Spring!! In order to celebrate that we are officially in spring, I've
decided to write a post talking about my favourite trends for the following
seasons. I'm not going to be talking about all of them as the post will be way
too long if I did that; instead I'm going to be sharing with you the reason why
I love some of the trends and giving you some tips on how to wear each ones of
them.
ALL PINK // RED LEATHER
I've combined
these two into one category as both are based on a colour and I think they are
somehow similar.
Pink is
going to be a big trend this season and it is something we all have seen on the
stores already. Every shade of pink is going to be trendy and you'll have to
decide which one you want to wear depending on your style and the occasion. I'm
a big fan of light pink or muted pink colours; I think they look really feminine
and nice. However, a bright pink top can be perfect for a summer night out.
This one
isn't too complicated to wear; you can go for jeans and a pink blouse, a total
pink look or a simpler look with pink accessories. The possibilities are
endless.
Red is also
going to be a big trend, especially on leather pieces. These trend isn't that
easy to wear but you can still make it work. Even though red is a bold colour,
you can wear it in a biker form with a white shirt and some jeans for everyday.
You can make this trend perfect for night time if you go for a red leather
jacket and a band t-shirt or black blouse.
LITTLE WHITE
DRESS // BLACK MAXI DRESS
Now let's
talk about dresses. There are two main dresses trends for spring and summer
this year (actually there are three, but we'll be talking about the third one
later).
Little white
dresses are going to be huge this summer. They are a really versatile piece
that can be found in many different styles. It can be worn both day and night
and look good in everybody. I personally like them really fresh and lightweight
for the day time and with lace and bit more structure (similar to Self-Portrait
style) for nights out.
On the
completely opposite site of things we find black long dresses. Again they are a
really versatile piece that can be found in many different styles. I prefer
these for the night time as I think they provide a really elegant look without
having to put too much effort into it.
I adore
these kinds of dresses (both of them) and I know I'll be wearing them like
crazy for the past few months.
TRENCH COATS
Trench coats
are always a huge trend for spring. They are that perfect lightweight jacket
that goes perfectly with the spring weather. They are really classic and they
go with almost every single outfit you can imagine.
As it has a
really structured shape you won't find many variations of it, but you'll find
it in more colours than the classic beige which I think will make your trench
coat that bit more especial.
TULE // SATIN
Two
different fabrics are going to be showing in our wardrobes these next seasons.
Tule is such
a feminine fabric that looks really lightweight and ethereal on. However, you
don't have to have a feminine style to wear it as this time you can also find
it in pieces that are bit more edgy or in tops that are perfect for going out.
This fabric is also perfect if you have a wedding coming soon as it looks nice
and elegant without being too serious.
Satin is
also popping into our wardrobes, but this time in dress form. Lingerie inspired
dresses are a really big trend and one we see in street style very often. It
can be a bit scary at first but if you pair it with more simple pieces and accessories
you can get a really great outfit. It is perfect for night time, but you can
also casual it down and wear it as day time dress.
BRALETTES // RETRO SWIMWEAR
Last but not
least let’s talk about these tow trends.
You are
going to be see lots of bras these seasons, especially under sheer shirts or
blouses. I love this trend so much as I think it is a good way to make your
outfit that extra especial. I understand it is quite a daring trend, but you
can make it more wearable by showing a piece of lace from your bralette (on
your neck) under a T-shirt or a regular shirt.
And for those
summers get away, retro inspired swimsuits are going to be huge once again. I
think this trend is really fun and different. It is also perfect if you are a
fan of swimwear and you want to add something different to your collections.
What are
your favourite trends?? Let me know in the comments. Also, let me know if you’d
like me to talk more in depth about any of these trends and I’ll write it for
you.
