The Lisbon Diaries

Welcome back to Frontbow!! As you may know if you follow me on my social media the week before last I went on holiday to Lisbon, Portugal. I left some post prepared for when I was on holiday; however, when I came back home I was feeling really uninspired and decided to take a mini break.

In today's post I'll be sharing with you some pictures from my trip to Lisbon as well as some tips and recommendations. I really hope you enjoy the post!!

MUST VISITS
Lisbon is a big city with many things to do and visit, however If I had to choose my favourites they would be:
-Barrio Alto & Chiado // This part of the city was my absolute favourite. Full of stores and amazing buildings, getting lost in this part of the city was my favourite thing to do. It would me much more enjoyable out of the summer months as it was full of tourists.
-LX Factory // The portuguese version of Candem Town has to be the LX Factory. These old factories have been converted into nice vintage and independent shops, bars and cafes. I absolutely loved this place as I found it to be really unique; the library there is also incredible. It's also nice as it is not packed with tourists.
-Sintra // This little town is 40 minutes (by train) away from Lisbon but it's definitely a must visit. The Palacio de Pena that you can find there is a colour explosion and one of the most beautiful thins I saw while in Portugal. A few tips if you are going to Sintra: go early in the morning or you'll have to make long queues in order to enter and take a long sleeved cover up or jacket as it can get pretty cold.

OTHER PLACES I VISITED (AND LOVED)
Lisbon has many beautiful spots and I'll be here for days If I talked about all of them. I'd recommend you take a Hop On - Hop off Bus just so you can see all of the city better. Places I thing you should all visit within Lisbon are Torre de Belem, Monasterio dos Jeronimos and Castelo de San Jorge. Near the castle there's a beautiful balcony that unfortunately was closed when I went. I also loved the 25th of April Bridge.

Now, If you want to move around then  I'd recommend Cascais a lot. It is a little coast village and it's super nice to just walk and have an overall great time.

MORE TIPS
I stayed at a really nice hotel called Hotel Roma which wasn't in the tourist center of the city but was still really well located. As for places to eat I cannot give you one single recommendation as I enjoyed my meals every where we ate; most restaurants have vegetarian options as well. Of course you should try Pasteis de Nata, the most typical pastry in Lisbon, which I personally didn't like much. Talkin about food another place I'd a hundred percent recommend you visit is Mercado de Ribeira; an old market that now hold many different food stands and with tables in the middle for you to enjoy your meal.  If you want to know more about it, click here.

Also, prices aren't really high in Portugal so you'll be able to find meals, souvenirs and even public transport tickets at a really good price.
