My Favourite Trends for Autumn / Winter 2017
10/08/2017
Plaid and
red?? Yes, please!
If you
have been shopping recently you may have noticed that some trends are
everywhere. This happens every single season and I think it is quite
interesting and something we can really talk about. There are some trends I
like and I'd definitely be wearing and others that I just don't see myself
wearing. Today we are going to be talking about the first ones.
My
favourite trend this season has to be red. I love red all year round and I wear
it from time to time; especially as I find red is a colour that really suits my
skin and hair colour. Many stores carry red pieces at the moment (Zara and
Mango have my favourites ones) and I adore every single piece (or almost
everything); my favourite pieces including this trend have to be outerwear
(especially coats) and knitwear. This colour is also perfect in basics as they
are still easy to wear but add a bit of colour to your outfits.
Nude
coloured clothing is also really trendy this season and, although I don't see
my self wearing nude pants or skirts, I do love this colour on tops and
jumpers. Just make sure you find the right shade for you!
Another
colour (or colour combination) which is really trendy this season is navy and
black and I'm absolutely loving it as it is one of my favourite combinations,
both for day and night time.
Checked
print is another huge trend this year and one I really love. I don't know why
but this print feels really classic to me but still modern, especially worn in
more masculine pieces like oversized blazers. I personally prefer this print in
skirts and (sometimes) in trousers. As I'm pretty petite and most blazers /
jackets with this print are oversized I don't really think they are right for
me. However, I still think outerwear with this print is really classic and
perfect for this time of the year. I also love the combination of red knitwear
and checked skirts; it creates a really wintery (and even festive) outfit but
still incorporates some of the trends for this season.
A trend I
like, but adapted to my personal style, is retro / vintage inspired clothing.
Many shops and magazines have made editorials with this trend and I find them
extremely inspiring. I am a hue fan of retro aesthetic and I love incorporating
it to my everyday fashion. A little personal tip, and something I love doing,
is going to vintage shops or thrift shops to get that perfect retro piece that
will go perfectly with your wardrobe.
This
season also incorporates many different textures into our wardrobes. Chain Mail
is one of my favourites; obviously I don't see myself wearing this everyday but
I do love it for fun night outs or a subtle sparkly touch to a night outfit if
you add earring or a bag with this material. Vinyl (or plastic looking
clothing) is also everywhere and it's not a trend I'm too keen on; however, I
have found a couple of skirts with this material I really like.
