Never Give Up What you Love

The Sunday Post III

I feel like the tittle of this post could easily be a lyric from pop song. Welcome to another Sunday Post… I have a month left to finish my first year of university and, after intense months of hard work and dedication, I finally see summer at the end of the tunnel. I wanted to talk to you about the power of never giving up doing what you love, as I feel is something we all experience as we grow older.

I was a really artistic little girl and while growing up I took drama and music classes, I loved it and I enjoyed every single minute while I was there. I also feel they really helped me beat my shyness and be a more confident kid, I made great friends and still today I can remember how to play a saxophone (which is great). However, as I grew older I gradually stopped attending my lessons; school supposed too much work and I did not have time to do everything. I took some more music lessons when I was about 13-14 but I haven't done anything since then.

Recently I have been noticing how much I miss taking music lessons; even though I sing 24/7 when I'm at home (I'm sure my neighbours could tell you so), I'd love to go back and start singing again or even learn how to play a new instrument (I really want to learn no play guitar).
That feeling led me to the reflection that most kids take some artistic lessons or do some kind of sport while growing up but only a few continue to do them when they are older. We should not let that happen. Letting ourselves enjoy for a few hours a week doing something we really love and that brings us so much joy could help improve our mental health and stress levels and with hat even increase our levels of happiness. Even if you just don't do the exact same thing, try yoga if you liked dancing or join a football team if you used to play it as a kid.

Please let yourself be a little kid again and go back to anything that makes you happy. You would not regret it.
I think we should all take a moment to reflect about that and to encourage people around you to continue doing what they love and pursuing their dreams, there's nothing better than that in life. And specially to your kids or little brothers or sisters as they still have time to never stop doing what they love.
