Tips for a Successful / Productive Day

If you work from home or just study from home you know that getting things done can be much harder than when you are at a regular work place or at a library. I spend most of my study days and blogging days at home and due to that I have developed some tricks to make your "from home" working days more productive.

CREATE A TO-DO LIST
This is one of the most useful things you can do. Creating a list of the things  you need to do and even putting yourself sometime to do each thing will increase your productivity and also make sure you get everything done and you don't forget anything. I love using daily planners for that; I find them extremely useful and a nicer way to organize you day (get the one I use here).

DO THE HARDEST (MOST BORING THINGS) FIRST
If you leave the hardest (or even most boring) tasks for the last part of your working day you'd find yourself much more tired and the last part would feel like an eternity. Even though it seems hard, doing the tasks you like the least first thing in the morning will make you feel much better afterwards.

HAVE BREAKS
Don't plan on sitting in your chair and being there until lunch time; this would make you feel more tired and you would end up being less productive and even committing more mistakes. Having breaks through your working day will make you feel more energized and would make your days appear shorter. Also, a mid-morning snack or coffee can be quite useful at keeping your energy levels high.

KNOW WHEN TO STOP
This is definitely something I need to apply more; I feel that whenever I work or study from home I end up doing things right until I go to bed. It is important to have certain routines and to know when to stop. If not, your days would be extremely long and you'd feel extremely tired afterwards.

LISTEN TO MUSIC
Working / studying from home has some benefits; you can listen to music if you want to! I recently found that listening to music (more on the classical / acoustic side) really helps me concentrate and be more productive. It has made a huge difference on my study routine and I would continue to do it in the future.

Hope you like my tips to have a more productive working day! Let me know yours in the comments…
