Two Palettes for Spring & Summer

For me Spring and Summer makeup is all about rose and warm tones, a nice glow and a pop of colour on the lips (or a juicy nude if I’m not feeling that fierce that day). Don't get me wrong, I follow that rule all year round (with added bits and bobs) but I find myself doing that kind of makeup more over the warmer months of the year.

There are two makeup palettes that help me achieve that look and that I wanted to share with you. They are both staples on my makeup collection and some of my most used items. Even though they are on the higher end side of things, I'd extremely recommend checking them out. I have used for months and months and they have never disappointed me. Obviously, there are other palettes I adore using but these two are the ones I’d keep with me no matter what and take with me to any Summer holiday.

The first palette I wanted to mention is the Hourglass Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Palette. This palette was limited edition but you can still get this online or but the powders separately. I love this product so much (I actually did a review here) and I find myself using it both for face and eyes. I mainly use the two lightest shades as my face highlights (as the third shade is a bit dark for me at the moment, but I hope to use it during the summer) and the third (slightly darker) shade as an eyeshadow. These powders work great both ways and give your skin an incredibly nice and natural (but intense) glow.

The second palette I wanted to mention is the Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette. I have mentioned this palette multiple times on the blog because it truly is one of my favourites. I love using this palette all year round but I find the shades on this perfect for Spring and Summer. The three first shades (more pink / rose toned) are perfect for Spring, paired with other shimmery shadows, and the rust orange shade looks wonderful all over the eye with a touch of highlighter on the center of the lid, creating a look perfect for Summer. The formula of these eyeshadows is really soft and are easy to work with.
