Auttumn Wellbeing | 5 Little Changes
10/03/2018
We are now
officially in autumn and I couldn't be happier about it. Is not that I don't
like summer but I do prefer a chillier weather rather than sweating as I leave
the house.
This autumn I
am determined to improve my wellbeing, meaning by that improving my environment
and taking more care of myself. We are all too busy that we sometimes forget to
look after ourselves. My anxiety has been quite bad recently and I feel like
little changes could make a big improvement in how I feel. Keep reading if you
want to know what my little changes are going to be…
1.Declutter
& Organization
Having a messy
bedroom or house can really affect how you feel; a clean and organized space
always feel much cosier and more relaxing. To me, autumn is the perfect time to
do a wardrobe declutter and get rid (always by donating or passing by to family
or friends) those wintery clothes you now are not going to wear anymore whether
because you did not wear them last winter or because they don't fit, whatever. Organizing
your bedroom can also help at making it feel more relaxing and helping you
disconnect at the end of the day.
2.Food
Now that we
are all back to work / university / school our diet can be really affected.
Most of us don't have much time to cook and so we can end up eating a lot of
junk food. My tip is to meal prep a little bit (make some pumpkin puree for the
week, cook some rice and keep it on the fridge, etc) and, if you happen to eat
outside, try and go for healthier options. You can always treat yourself from
time to time but don't eat "bad" food on a daily basis or your health
may get angry at you.
3.Play with
Beauty
I think beauty
is really powerful and can really help us feeling better. A good skincare routine,
a new haircut or a lovely makeup look can really improve our confidence and,
with that, our overall wellbeing. I personally really enjoy beauty and so I'm
always experimenting with makeup to see what kind of makeup looks make me feel
my most powerful and confident.
4.Working Out
Working out is
not only good for your body but also for your mind and soul. Find a workout
that you like (whether t is running, yoga, ballet, etc; anything will do) and
try to do it at least a few times a week. This would improve your health, both
physical and mental, and will give you the dose of exercise your body needs
after a full day sat on a chair at the office or class.
5.Don't forget
friends and family
Spending quality
time with your loved ones can really make a difference in how you feel. I don't
have many friends at university with whom I can be my total crazy self so I
love meeting my best friends in the weekends for a coffee and chat and it just
works as a therapy. I feel much better after I have spent some time with my friends
and obviously, my family. You don't even need fancy plans, it's just the time
you spend together that matters.
What are you doing to
improve your wellbeing this autumn? Let me know in the comments…
