Get Dressed in 5 Minutes | Styling Tips

"The joy of dressing is an art"

Getting ready in the mornings can be a total nightmare, especially if you want to look a bit more stylish; even though most days I'd throw on a jumper, a pair of jeans and some boots and I'd leave the house like that.

I love fashion and I have some tips that will help you (and me) achieve an amazing look in about 5 minutes. Getting dressed quickly and being stylish can be compatible if you keep a bunch of staple pieces with you. Today I'll be sharing with you my favourite combinations and tricks to achieve that "perfect" look, as well as some pictures of amazing street style looks that will give you a bit of inspiration when you don't know what to wear.

ALL BLACK, AND A TOUCH OF COLOUR

Wearing an all black outfit is an easy way of looking stylish without putting to much effort into getting dresses. This combination, however, can look a bit plain sometimes. What I love to do to make this look a bit more fun is adding a touch of colour (it can be a red bag, a pair of leopard print ballet shoes or a printed jacket); it seems a bit simple, but it will make a huge difference in your looks.

JEANS + WHITE (SHIRT)

Is there a more iconic combination that a pair of jeans and a white top?? I don't think so. I love wearing jeans, they are comfortable and yet stylish and they go with many different looks. I also own a bunch of white tops, especially white shirts. I wear jeans and white shirts almost once a week; it is a really versatile combo that can be worn in a more sporty way (if you add a pair of trainers) or in a more formal way if you add a pair of heels or boots and a blazer.

TOTAL LOOK

Wearing one single colour from head to toes can be a very risky choice. However, if you choose the right pieces, accessories and occasion, you can create a winner look. Suits (or co-ords) are an easy way of achieving this look. You can also mix different textures and fabrics to give a bit more personality to the look and make it a bit more fun. If you don't feel comfortable wearing only one colour, try mixing different shades of grey or blue to achieve a similar effect.

DRESSES (LESS IS ALWAYS MORE)

Dresses are really easy to style. To me dresses are the perfect example of the saying "less is more". As long as you find a few dresses that fit you nicely and that can cover different occasions, you'll have many outfits sorted. They can be worn with many different jackets, shoes and accessories. I did a few post all about dresses a while back and I'll link it bellow so you can check them out.

BASIC TOPS + SKIRTS

With jumpers in winter or with basic t-shirts in summer, a skirt can save many of your days if you know how to style them. I love wearing leather skirts with knitwear in winter as it creates a really chic look; in summer I tend to wear skirts made of lighter fabrics or denim and I like to pair them with basic t-shirts for a perfect everyday look. As for accessories, wear whatever goes with your outfit.

STATEMENT COATS

This will only work in a colder weather, but a nice statement jacket can make a really effortless outfit seem really stylish and professional. Choose a jacket that goes with your style and wardrobe and you'll be able to wear it non-stop. I like the ones that have a Chanel vibe (they make jeans and a t-shirt look amazing) but printed coats or blazers also have my heart.

These are all my go-to outfit combinations that will make you look stylish in just a few minutes. Accessoring is also really important, as accessories can change your look completely. Would you like a post on that?? Let me know in the comments...
