Four Lipsticks for Summer 2017
6/16/2017As the weather gets warmer, the kind of makeup I like to wear tends to change a little bit. I still wear my nudes, but I also wear slightly brighter colours over the warmer months of the year. Keep reading if you want to know what my favourite lipsticks are for summer…
MAC Modesty
Lipstick
I like Mac's
Modesty all year round but specially like it when it gets warmer. I love the
pink undertones on this lipstick and the creamy finish it leaves on your lips. It
is one of the most perfect nude lipsticks, especially if you are fair, and it
works well with really natural makeup or more dramatic looks. Rose gold and
rouge eyeshadow looks go really great with this lipstick.
NARS
Audacious Lipstick in Raquel
Another nude
lipstick I love for summer is the Nars Audacious Lipstick in Raquel; it has
more of a peachy undertone which looks amazing when you have a bit of a tan (or
you add a bunch of bronzer to your skin). It has creamy / satin finish and,
again, looks well with many different makeup looks. I love wearing this
lipstick with a soft winged liner as I find they go really great together.
Maybelline
Toasted Brown Lipstick
As you can
see by now, I don't tend to wear many matte lipsticks over summer; I just want
a glowy look even on my lips. This shade is a bit darker and looks great with
soft golden eyeshadow looks. The formula
is really nice and the shade, a dark rose colour, will look amazing on almost every
skin tone. Maybelline Lipsticks are on of the best at the drugstore and I
really recommend them.
Nars Cruella
Lip Pencil
If I wear a
bright lipstick in summer, it would be a red. I really love Nars Cruella as I
find it has the perfect undertones for my skin and hair colour. However, I'm on
the hunt of a cream finish red lipstick and I might get the YSL Rouge Couture
in number 1 over the next few weeks (I'll update you as soon as I get it). This
colour is perfect to wear with really minimal eye makeup and lots of highlight.
These are my
four picks for summer; let me know in the comments what your favourite lipsticks
for summer are...
