Essential Makeup Products for the Festive Season

Seeing that we are already and that Christmas parties and dinners are already here I thought I'd do a post sharing with you some of my favourite makeup product for this festive / Christmassy season.
I'm going
to talk first about a few base products. If there's a blush I love for
Christmas, it is the Bourjois Blush in Lilas D'Or. It has such a beautiful rose
shade (that goes perfect with red lipstick) but also has little specs of
glitter which make your cheeks look really dewy and pretty. Another product I
use a lot whenever I have a night time event, and there are many of them around
Christmas, is the Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter by The Balm. I like to go for
pretty natural highlighters for day time, but I love rocking a more intense one
at night and this one is perfect for that.
Let's now
move to some eye makeup. Without a doubt, my favourite eyeshadow palette for
this time of year is the Naked Smoky Palette by Urban Decay. I love it because
it is very versatile; you can create really soft looks with it that are perfect
if you are wearing a bold lip or a super intense silver and blue smoky perfect
for parties or New Year's Eve. Urban Decay eyeshadows are one of my favourites
and I adore this palette. The MAC Pigment in Tan is also a favourite of mine
for the same reason; I use a lot and I love it how it can add a subtle shine to
your eye look or look really intense when used wet and paired with cranberry
and burgundy eyeshadows (this looks is stunning for green eyes). The last eye
product I want to mention is the YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara in black;
this is one of my favourite mascaras all year round and I love how it works
well with soft and intense eye makeup and also how well it blends with false
eyelashes.
Now onto
some lip products. I love red lipsticks so much that I wear them no matter the
season; however, I do wear them a bit more over Winter and especially over
Christmas. My favourite red lipstick ever has to be the Nars Lip Pencil in
Golshawn. It is the perfect red for y skin tone and hair colour; it is also
really comfortable to wear (as it is a satin) but still long wearing. When I'm
wearing really bold eye makeup I like to wear a more neutral or nude lipstick.
The one I find lasts the longest on my lips is the Nyx Lip Lingerie in 03 Lace
Detail; if you put a lip liner underneath it would last you all night long.
