My Morning Routine

This post is not going to be a typical morning routine, there's plenty of those out there. Instead, I am going to be sharing with you some of my tips to make mornings less mornings and to start the days in a better mood and energy.

Even though I love sleeping and I'd stay in bed until ten and more every single day I usually wake up at 6:30 every day to go to university. This leads me to my first tip which would be:

Give yourself time

You'd feel much better if you wake up 20 minutes before than usual and you don0t have to rush to be on time. At first it can seem a bit stupid but believe that being more relaxed in the mornings will make you start your days in a much more peaceful way.
First thing I do in the morning is get out of bed and wash my face; no phone, no social media, nothing. This is my second tip:

Forget your phone.

Not only does it take a lot of time in the mornings but looking at your social media first thing in the morning is not the best thing you can do. Instead, get out of bed and refresh yourself by washing your face with cold water.
Then I'd normally go downstairs and have breakfast. I cannot start my day If I haven't had breakfast. So here goes another tip:

Always have breakfast.

You need energy to get with your day and having breakfast will give you the energy you'll need during the morning or until your lunch break. Coffee is not obligatory but, in my case, I love a good cup of coffee in the mornings.
Once I'm full I'll go and get ready. Even if that day I'm not leaving the house or I'm leaving later, I'd always make sure I get ready (obviously not with a full face of makeup on) just so that I feel better and more productive.

Always get ready.

Pyjamas are comfortable but it's not the best idea to be in your pyjamas all day.

These are my tips for a better morning routine, what are yours?

  1. I definitely agree with the phone tip. I know the moment I get my phone out, my morning has pretty much disappeared! I use it to put some music on and then try to forget about it until I try to leave.

I also try to eat breakfast outside if I can. I know it's often dark and sometimes a bit gloomy but, as I know I am going to spend most of the day inside, it just helps to have a couple of moments peace out in the real world.
