Summer Makeup Essentials



I am a huge makeup lover and I love playing with makeup and cresting new looks; I adore how a bit of makeup can accentuate your best features and make you feel a bit more confident with yourself. In this post I'll be talking about my favourite makeup products for the summer months.


My face makeup in summer is extremely simple; I hardly ever wear foundation during the summer months and If I do it would be a really lightweight one. However, there's a product I cannot live without during summer and that's a bronzer. I am quite pale and I fake tan my body but not my face so I need something to match my face to my body. I have recently discovered my new favourite summer bronzer, Bare Minerals' Invisible Bronze in Medium. This bronzer has a baked powder formula which makes it really soft on the skin and also gives your skin a nice glow without being shimmery or too over the top.

Overall, I tend to go for an extremely minimal makeup look during the hot summer days and my best friend on days when I want to look like I make an effort is a red lipstick. I think fresh faced makeup, a bit of mascara and some red lipstick create the most perfect summer makeup. My favourite red lipstick of all time is the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Golshawn.


On days when I want to apply some eyeshadow, shimmery or metallic eye shadows are my favourite especially if they are in cream formula. I love the Kiko Cream Eyeshadow (the pencil ones) and the Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadows, which I think might be a dupe for the Stila ones. I also love using the Mac Pigment in Tan during the summer, it just gives the most beautiful colour to your lids. To finish of the eye makeup a bit of mascara is essential for me; I am currently using the YSL Volume Effect Faux Cils (which is one of my favourites). If you live in a really humid place a waterproof mascara could be a good idea.

    Great post! These essentials all look like awesome products :) I think I got a version of that Nars lip crayon as a free Sephora birthday gift... It is such a great color!
