What I Look For when Buying Fashion

I am becoming such a picky shopper. I like the clothes and accessories I but to have a certain quality and overall style just so hat I know I I'd wear as much as possible and I though today I'd share all these things with you.

One of the things I'm the most picky about when buying clothes is the fabric; I love when fabrics feel really bad quality, too plastic or too itchy. Fabrics play such an important role in the overall look of a piece of clothing and they are something I do care about a lot. I am not saying you have to go for the most luxurious fabrics, just ones that feel great and also look great. Stores like Zara and Topshop can be quite inconsistent about this and that's why  I prefer going to the shops rather than buying online most of the times.

Another thing I am really strict about when buying clothes it's the cut and shape of the piece of clothing. I want my clothes to have a nice cut (as some pieces sometimes have the weirdest cuts ever) and also have a great shape. I don't like when tops fall strangely on the body or when jeans or pants don't fit great. I also have certain preferences when it comes to cuts and shapes (especially with dresses and coats) and I try and look for pieces that I know would flatter my body shape.

I used to buy shoes whenever I found something I liked and now I have completely changed my mind. I think shoes are one of the things you need to invest in the most; they need to be good quality and comfortable and they also need to go with your style. If you buy a really good quality shoe that doesn't go with your style you'd have lost money as you won't wear it as much as you should. Also, make sure it doesn't rub your feet or that is too tight because you'll end up in the same situation.

I have two different advices when it comes to buying bags. If you are buying more affordable bags I'd recommend you go for some the ones that look better quality. In the same shop you can find bags that look really cheap and other that look fairly more expensive at the same price. The materials used on the making of the bag are key in order to determine how good it looks and/ or feels. However, if you are buying a more expensive bag I'd recommend you go for fabrics that are very resistant (as the Longchamp Le Pliage Nylon) or, if you are buying a leather bag, one that is a bit textured so that it is more difficult to scratch.

Last but not least I want to talk about jewellery. As it happens with shoes, I used to buy really cheap jewellery anywhere and now I see it more as an investment. You still don't need to spend hundreds of euros in jewellery; some brands like Tous or PdPaola and even some small boutiques make great quality jewellery at a good price point.

That's it for today's post! What do you look for when buying fashion? Let me know in the comments…
