Spring Makeup Edit | Fresh & Rosy

With Spring being just around the corner, I decided to do a post talking you through the kind of makeup I like to do during Spring time as well as showing you some of my favourite products to achieve that look.

I like my makeup to be more on the natural side all year round but I love that look even more when the sun starts to shine bright and it illuminates your skin naturally. During Spring I love making my skin look heathy and radiant, with a bit of a rosy tone on the cheeks. I enjoy doing natural (still a bit glam) smoky eyes in mauve and golden tones and I love a touch of pink on the lips. I have a few products that really help achieve my desired look and today I am going to be talking about some of them (I am not mentioning anything for the eyes as I want to dedicate a whole post to a new palette acquisition I am completely in love with).

Let's start with the base. If you have been reading the blog for a while you know I love glowy skin (you can check other posts here and here). Over the last few weeks I have discovered a new foundation that makes my skin look fresh and natural, that is really light on the skin and that is, overall, the perfect foundation for the look I like doing. Said foundation is the L’OrĂ©al Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation; it has a medium coverage (that I make a bit lighter using a damp beauty sponge) and a really natural finish. It is one of my favourite drugstore foundations ever. Then, to give my cheeks a bit of a rosy shade I love using the Catrice Blush in Soft Rose. It is really affordable and the formula is great. I also love adding highlight to the high points of my face to give my skin an extra glow.

The easiest way to add a touch of pink or rose to your makeup look is with lipsticks. I love rosy tone nudes during this time of the year and I find they are the perfect shade to pair with a fresh skin look. I prefer cream or satin finishes because I feel they add (once again) a fresh and radiant appearance to the makeup look and are much comfortable on the lips. Some of my favourites are the Nars Velvet Lip Glide in Bound (one of my favourite lip products ever), the Mac Lipstick in Syrup and the Maybelline Lipstick in Smoked Rose (a beautiful true rose shade with a matte finish). However, there are days when I want something a bit more bold and fun; on those days I love using the Nars Lip Pencil in Golshan, a beautiful cool toned red with a satin finish.

What kind of makeup do you enjoy during Spring? Let me know in the comments.
