10 Things To Do On A Winter Evening
1/22/2017Cold winter evenings have a lot of potential. They may be shorter and colder than summer evenings, but you can still make the most out of them. Here's to cozy winter evenings / afternoons!!
There are many
different things you can do in a winter evening (take into account that by
evening I mean both afternoon and evening, it's just was way too long to write
them both every time). The weather may not be the best for some activities but
it allows you to do many different things.
1. GO TO THE
CINEMA
I'm a huge
cinema fan. I go pretty often to the cinema, especially in winter. This is a
good way of leaving the house without having to suffer the cold on the streets.
There are many different films on the cinemas right now; if you haven't seen
"La La Land" I truly recommend it, I loved it soo much!!
2. ORGANIZE
/ DECLUTER YOUR WARDROBE / MAKEUP COLLECTION
This may
sound a bit boring, but it's one of the most productive and satisfying things
you can do. Remember to prepare something to drink and eat, as you also do
quite a bit of exercise with this. My number one tip will be to bring a friend;
it will make it much easier and fun.
3. BAKING
Even though
I haven't baked anything in a long time, mainly because I have no time, I'm a
huge fan of baking. It is something I love doing and that I tend to do whenever
I don't know what to do. If you want some inspiration on what to bake, I'll
link all my recipe posts bellow, as well as my food Pinterest board.
4. GO ICE
SKATING
If you don't
mind being a bit cold, you can also go ice skating. I'm not the best at ice
skating (or any sport haha) but I thing it is the perfect winter activity. You
can go with friends, family, etc. And have a really nice and fun afternoon.
5. TAKE CARE
This is the
perfect plan for a cozy winter evening. Take care of yourself by applying a
face mask, having a big bubble bath and painting your nails. Do whatever will
make you feel better afterward and enjoy; having some time for yourself is one
of the best things you can do.
You can also
do a bit of sport, preferably is it is something a bit relaxing such as yoga or
Pilates. Search some routines on YouTube and enjoy yourself!
6. READ
I feel like
I talked about reading in all my last lifestyle posts and I don't really know
why. However, reading is one of my favourite things to do if I'm staying in all
evening, especially if I have a mug of hot chocolate topped with
mini-marshmallows by my side. Also, I need new books to read for when I finish
reading my school books, so let me your recommendations in the comment section.
7. GO
SHOPPING
If you still
want to go out, and you don't mind crowds, you can have a look around the
shops. Shopping centres and department stores are really busy in winter, but
you can try going one evening. I personally find it a bit stressful when there
are a lot of people, but I really enjoy doing that if it's a bit calmer.
8.
REDECORATE
I love
changing the decor of my room. Not the entire furniture, of course, but I do
like changing the pictures I have framed or moving the decorations around a
little bit. It's also something that may seem a bit boring, but that can end up
being a really fun activity.
9. GO TO A
MUSEUM / EXHIBITION
It seems to me
that museums are being left aside nowadays. It's funny that I say that when I
hardly ever go to museums, but I'm really thinking of going more this year.
There's a Fashion Museum in Barcelona that I'm desperate to go to and also a
David Bowie Exhibition coming in May. Have a look around the museums in your
city and you may found something you like.
10. JOURNAL
Planning
your upcoming week or looking back to the things you've done that day can be
something really pleasing. It will also help you reach your goals and feeling
less stressed. For 2017, I've been doing this everyday and it's one of the best
decisions I have made.
What about
you?? What do you like doing on cold, winter evenings??
