The Balm Nude'tude Palette | Review
1/18/2017
It's been a
long time since I did a review on a makeup product… Today I'm going to review
my newest addition to my eyeshadow palette collection: The Balm Nude'tude
Palette.
The Balm is a
brand I haven't tried much from. I have (and love) their Mary-Lou Manizer and
I've swatched a few of their lip colours before, but that's it. However, I've
always been entreated by their eyeshadow palettes. There's something about
their shade selection, their packaging and the aesthetic of the brand in
general that made me put one of their products on my makeup wishlist. I'm so
impressed by this palette that I now want to try more from this brand; let me
know your suggestions bellow.
Let's now
move on to the review of this product. I'll be reviewing this product based on
three different aspects: formula, pigmentation and packaging. As I've been
doing on my last reviews, I'm not going to be giving each category and emoji
scale, I'm just going to talk about them individually.
FORMULA
I really
like the formula on these eyeshadows; they are really buttery, not patchy and
don't have much fall out. They blend really nicely and are really easy to work
with, I have used many different brushes with them and they have worked with
all of them. There's not particular eyeshadow that I found is a little bit off
or doesn't work as great. They are also really long-lasting on the eyes, even
without using a primer underneath. Overall the formula on these eyeshadows is really
good.
PIGMENTATION
As I have
already mentioned, the pigmentation on these eyeshadows is really good, eve the
lightest shade have an amazing colour pay off. Both the mattes and the shimmer
shades are perfectly pigmented and apply really nicely to the eyes. They also
swatch really nicely. The colour selection is really nice as well, as it allows
you to create really soft day-time looks (using the lightest shades on the
palette) or more intense looks that are perfect for a night look.
PACKAGING
I love the
overall look of The Balm, as I said before, and this palette is no exception.
The palette itself is really compact (as it is cardboard) but still has a big
mirror that makes it the perfect palette to travel with. I think that the details
on the packaging of this palette (and also on the Nude’ dude one as well) are
really fun and different from many of the eyeshadow palettes on the market;
this makes this palette a bit more especial. I'm not the biggest fan of the
brush it comes with, but this happens with almost every eyeshadow palette.
Overall I
really like this eyeshadow palette and I think it is really good quality. It
isn't too expensive either and, considering that you get twelve different
eyeshadows, I think it's a great addition to your makeup collection.
Have you
tried this eyeshadow palette?? What are your thoughts on it?? Let me know in
the comments...
