Chic Summer Outfits Inspiration & Tips

Getting dressed when it is really hot outside can be quite difficult as all you want to wear when it is that hot are bikinis and sport shorts, at least in my case. Over the years I have found some tricks that make creating a summer outfit much easier and that will allow you to be yourself when the sun is shinning bright…

As you know I like to describe my style as something kind of chic; I love wearing blouses and skinny jeans, as well as some flower prints and leather jackets… Maintaining that style in summer can be quite difficult but I think I have found the secret formula.

Wear nice blouses with denim shorts // Denim shorts can sometimes be too casual, which is nice, but they can also be dressed up if you wear them with a nice blouse and some block-heeled sandals. Accessories also play a big role in summer outfits as they can make your overall look completely different; add a pop of colour with a red bag or some bangles to make your outfit a bit more fun.

Dresses and playsuits for life // If there's a piece I love for summer are dresses and playsuits; they are really easy to wear as they create a whole outfit by their own. Just add a nice pair of sandals, or even some white canvas trainers; a denim jacket for when it gets chillier and a nice bag and you'll be ready to go. Also, I like my dresses and playsuits to be really light and have some sort of pattern, most of the time floral, for that added summer touch.

Flowy and tailored shorts also exist // Sometimes we think that the only type of shorts on the market are denim shorts and that's not true. You can find many different types of shorts, from really light one (my personal favourites) to more tailored ones, that will still keep you fresh but that will give your outfit a complete different image. Zara has great tailored shorts and Pull & Bear makes the best flowy shorts. Skirts are also a great alternative to denim shorts and one I enjoy wearing a lot.

Go for basic pieces // For days when I want to dress a bit more casual, basic pieces such as plain tops or bodysuits are perfect. I like to wear them tucked into a pair of denim shorts and add some dainty necklaces and a nice (small) bag. This is definitely one of my go to outfits for causal summer days.

Accessories are key // As I have said before accessories play a really important role in all of your summer outfits; they can give a lot more personality to your look and make it look completely different. I like smaller bags for summer, sometimes colourful; sandals with a bit of a heel, dainty gold jewellery and big sunglasses. I also love hats as I find them really fun and interesting.

These are my tips for dressing "chic" when it is supper hot outside. I really hope you guys have enjoyed the post…
